About

Hey there, If you’re reading this, I hope you found my blog posts useful! Originally coming from a small suburb in South India, I’m currently pursuing my MS in Management Science and Engineering (Yes, it’s a mouthful!) at Columbia University, New York. My career so far has taken many turns – from working on renewable energy research to currently aspiring to become a Product Manager, I have been blessed with the opportunity to gain a wide variety of skills.

All of my internship experiences so far (about which I’ve written a LOT on my blog) at IISc Bangalore, IIT Madras, IIM Ahmedabad, University of Wisconsin-Madison USA all gave me an insight into a new project every time. If you’re someone who feels passionate about linking technology and education, we have a lot in common! Some of my other past-time activities (apart from writing) include playing badminton and reading fiction. I’m moderately active on all social media (check the Contact Me section). Oh, did I tell you about my two names? To clarify once again: Pooja is my pet name, and Soundarya is the official one. Send me a message, and maybe I can tell you the back story there!

  1. Hi Pooja di.First of all, thanks a lot for sharing your experience with us!It is really informative for juniors like me.
I have a request-could you share some advice on developing soft skills? In research group,in company or in general in career or can you share any good resources you know for the same?

    1. Hi Awani,
      It’s my pleasure! 🙂
That’s a very broad question, I will try to write an article on that if possible. But what helped me the most was the clubs/organizations I was part of. I was a very reserved person few years back, and because I pushed myself out of my comfort zone, I was forced to learn these skills. I’d recommend you do the same.
